Fayetteville, WEST VIRGINIA?!

I dont' know if any of you have been to the Northwest, but Grindline makes the best skate parks on the planet. Dreamland is a close second but my favorite is Grindline thanks to Little Eddie's tight transitions and 'organic' building techniques (ya ever write words without knowing their exact meaning???). Anywho, yeah so I'm trying to go to this like immediately... Who's comin' with? Feel free to comment so it looks like people look at this.

Prefer not to skate and drink at the same time? Maybe just skating by itself is enough. Maybe you prefer content related exclusively to Blacksburg, VA. Well, fret no more for there is blacksburgskate.com. A real website with a real url - how bout that? These photos aren't from the site but they depict Caio (wearing black and white again...) and Kevin skating the universally neglected flat bar at our park. So next time you can't think of anything to write, send 'em elsewhere!

Weekend Fiesta

While Caio and Kevin were busy skating the Blacksburg Park and doing Frontside Flips like this one, I was down the street with other plans....

Don't stop til ya get enough son.

Who needs Oregon when you got North Cakallaka???

Artisan Skate Parks knows how to make skate parks. I personally can vouch for that. Anyone tryin' to hit up Raleigh??

Nice.

Episode Two: Attack of the...Alcoholism?

This is where the drinking comes in. Post charlie horse I just had to crack a beer, hence all the amateur photography. 3 Coors Lights later, Kevin tossed me the keys to his Benz (smart) and we were off to Knoxville. Nice drive, car pranks, bad directions, GPS bullshit, yadda yadda. All we shot at Knoxville was the clam shell so now I'll bore with with scenic shots and me skating frontside.

.

We left around 4pm and headed home. After drinking half a six pack of PBR, Kevin got his keys back and we made just one more stop at this place...
I'm not gonna tell you the name of it, or where it is, or nothing. You don't even wanna bother....

Nice Caio... I guess

So basically... I finished the six pack, got a 40oz Budweiser at the hellish skate park on the way home. Then I passed out. Marc drove 60mph. Holla holla.

Steezin' It

Blacksburg Skate Park is our home spot. It's concrete, it's smooth, it's laid back. Luckily for Caio, he's still in High School so he gets to enjoy watching all the high school chicks walk from school, past the park, and off to tennis practice. We told him tennis chicks dig steezy backside ollies. This should get him a date for prom fo sho!

Caio does K-grinds

Marc with what seems to be a half cab heel over the pyramid.

Kevin does kickflips. We used his car by the way, thanks brah.

Why we love Knoxville

Where do I start? Mini street plaza.
Spine mini bowl. Stand alone 10ft pool with real coping. Friendly locals. No annoying kids. Drinking out of Subway cups. Perfect weather. Right next to University of TN ( we owe you a visit). Short drive to the beer store. Right off the interstate. Oh, and over vert frontside airs. Caio, where's the bro cam footy???

"BEER, BEER, bros..."

That was the text I sent Kevin at 6:45am explaining why the trip was crumbling apart. Fortunately it was just a dream, I'm glad he thinks so highly of me. Kevin's worst nightmare almost came true however as he, Caio, and I found ourselves in the Collegiate Suites parking lot at sunrise. We sat motionless was Kevin was honking his way into the hangovers of half the neighborhood. After five minutes, the 4th memeber of the trip (Mark) was hobbling out of his apartment. We left only a mere 30 minutes behind schedule - not bad for a skate trip.

Here's a sunroof view of Tennessee in April.

This Thursday...

Knoxville, TN. Yee-haw baby. We'll be poundin' scotch and carvin' over-vert pockets like this prudy lil' gem thats only three and a half hours from HQ. Full status report due on Friday. Oh, and University of Tennessee is right there too. NICE. See, its a simple formula - mix beer, liquor, college towns, skate parks, and driving to get one hell of a Thursday.
